#12 and #13 - Someone I care about

Challenge prompt - Post a picture of something or someone that made your day special. Write about someone or something that you really care about.

I'm combining these two prompts because the answer is the same. TONKA! I love him so much it's disgusting. Seriously. I will never give him up for any reason, ever.

Tonka is a (almost) 4 year old dachshund. I thought he was a miniature when I bought him, he is not (obviously). He weighs about 25lbs.

Here's a few reasons I love him so much:
* He gets so excited when I come home a little pee comes out
* He loves tanning as much as I do. And he sits at the end of the lawn chair whenever I lay out.
Coolest dog shirt ever
* He howls.
* He bugs Marley to play alll day long.
*  He goes to bed at 9PM every night on the dot. Doesn't matter what I am doing. At 9 o'clock he is cuddled up under the blankets in my bed.
* He knows when I don't feel well and snuggles up next to me and will sit for hours.
* He loves eating ice cream.
* He alerts me when something is out of the ordinary. Like when the ceiling was leaking. Or when  there was a spider
* He has no sense of boundaries and wants to give everyone kisses.

He's my little buddy. He makes every day special and I always look forward to coming home to see him.

I want to save my blog from extinction. So I'm doing a 30 day challenge. I'll answer one of these prompts each day.

Thanks for reading!

Playing in the Snow

We got 8.5 inches of snow the last few days, most of it falling Monday night and Marley love love loves it! I played with him in it last night for about a half hour or so. He's getting pretty good at catching snowballs in his mouth if you throw them up in the air. Tonka struggles when there's that much snow on the ground...because his legs aren't that long. Mar usually has to run around and stomp it all down for a bit before Tonka can join in the fun. Here's a few pictures and a video of them in their winter gear playing in the snow.

Lazy Days of Summer

Tonka seems to be picking up on a few of Marley's habits. Marley is such a trooper. Tonka torments him ALL DAY LONG and Marley just ignores him. One day Tonk is going to get his ass kicked and I hope I'm there to see it because he totally deserves it. Ha ha! Tonka needs some tough love discipline.
Don't mind the winter boot we keep by the door to
keep it propped open for the dogs. Lol, yes, we are that lazy.

Doo Bee Doo Bee Doooo

I haven't blogged in a while, sorry about that. Actually, I am not sorry, it's my blog, learn to like it. Let's see I moved home, Tonka and Marley are BFF's, I'm on vaca in Cali which is weird and good, I am from the desert and I don't do humidity well, I'd Van Gogh my ears if I could, and now I'm waiting for Tommy Gavin to come on and it's taking foreverrrr. Sorry I don't have anything more exciting to report.

Tonka & Marley Playing in the Backyard

I almost don't believe it myself, but they are having so much fun with each other! Makes me so happy to see them playing. There was a minor mishap last night. We aren't really sure what happened exactly, but they were playing in the living room upstairs, there was a big thud, and then Tonka came running down the stairs whimpering so I think that means Marley won. Ha ha, not that it was ever a competition though, he's got more than 60lbs on Tonka.

Alert the media!!! YAY!!!

Marley and Tonka are finally friends!! It only took about a week but now they are running around like they've always been BFF's!!! I took them in the backyard early this morning and threw some balls and toys and they had a blast! This makes me sooo happy. My only regret is that we didn't just make it work a year ago when I wanted to move home to put some money away. Oh well though.

A's to Your Q's

Yay! I'm so excited to have some response to my Q&A Post. Here are the answers to the first questions:

1. Do you like me? If so, how much?
2. If I came to UTah to visit, what would we do?
3. Why don't you ever wear your hair in a simple ponytail?
4. Have you read any of my stories?
5. Can I have your iMac?
6. Can I have Tonka?

John, of course I like you! On a scale of 1-10, I think you're a 12. Aside from my family, I think you are one of my original blog followers and you always give great feedback. If you were to come to Utah for a visit, depending on the season, we'd probably spend some time at Sundance, maybe visit Temple Square, got to an Owlz game if they were in season, and if we had enough time we could go down to the Red Rocks. I wear my hair in a simple ponytail all the time. It's done that way in a couple of the photos on my sidebars. Truthfully, I have not read any of your stories. I know, I am a loser blog friend. You can have my iMac for the bargain price o $650+shipping/handling. Also, no you may not have Tonka. Even though he can be a little tool sometimes. I love him sooo much, I'll never give him up.

Will you teach me how to knit so that I can make leg warmers, beanies and scarves for my step-kids? It's going to be a cheap Christmas this year and I have to cut costs wherever I can.

Andrea, I can teach you how to teach yourself to make each of those super fast! All of the knitted items you see on my blog and on Yogoz Boutique are made using Knifty Knitters. These are the best! Robert's Crafts has the best selection and you can use their 40% off coupons. They come with picture instructions and are very easy to follow. Your question has gotten me in the mood to get mine out and knit a tube scarf! Thanks!

Have you ever been in love?

Yes, I have been in love. He was intelligent, had big dreams, made me laugh, and I was happier than I ever thought possible with him. I honestly thought we were made for one another. Unfortunately, those feelings weren't reciprocated and he ended our relationship. Since then I have discovered he was not the person I thought he was and I probably dodged a bullet. That doesn't make me feel any better though I suppose it should. Maybe I'll meet someone that makes me happy soon. I'm not looking for a marriage right now, I just want someone to have fun with, someone dependable. However, even that seems to be just out of my reach lately.

My question - How do you deal with stress?

I usually vent to my family, they are amazing listeners! My Dad always knows how to solve the problem. My sister, Holli, usually knows what I am going to say before I even have to say it, she just knows things. My Mom can always help me see the silver lining in bad situations, and my other sister Madi is always ready to kick whoevers ass needs kicking. And if none of them are available, you can say anything to the dogs (Tonka and Marley) and they just have a way of making things better with their kisses. Also, when I get really stressed out I like to sit in the tub and read. It's nice and quiet and you can forget about things while getting lost in someone else's story. And since I have a working tub for the first time in 3 years, I retreat there any chance I get.

Thanks for the questions friends! It was fun answering them and it gave me some ideas for future posts. If anyone else has questions you'd like me to answer just click here and leave them in the comments section!

Yarning & Desperate Housewives Party

Holli and I don't know how to knit. We'd like to learn, but we haven't and probably never will. So we fake-knit with our Knifty Knitters, or as Holli calls it "yarning". We're both making blankets right now. Holli's is pink and black (big surprise there) and mine is green and blue. Marley likes to sit with us too. And yes, that is Desperate Housewives playing in the background. We LOVE it.

Happy Birthday Marley!

Marley, the Ridley family dog, turned 2 years old today. He's soo adorable! He is a lab/border collie mix, he's about knee high and weighs 65 lbs. We have so many nick names for him: Marley Bob, Mars, Mars Bars, Bob Dog, ...... he's so cute, I just love him!
