#8 - Get Rid of Credit

Challenge prompt - If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?

This is a hard prompt. There's so many things that would make the world a better place if they didn't exist. Pain, hunger, poverty, racism. I mean really, the list is endless. But I think for the purposes of this I'd have to go with Credit.

I hate the credit system. I think the whole thing is completely fucked and we should get rid of it. I hate that you have to "build up" credit by purchasing dumb, non-essential items from places like RC Willey. It doesn't seem right to me that I have to go into debt with TVs or couches in order to purchase a car or a house. I don't like the idea of "co-signers". Not everyone is lucky enough to have family that can/will co-sign for them. I hate the fact that if you have unexpected expenses, lose your job, or simply have a bad month financially your credit is completed fucked, for years, or some cases forever. I don't know exactly what a better system would entail, but what we've got now isn't working.

I want to save my blog from extinction. So I'm doing a 30 day challenge. I'll answer one of these prompts each day.

Thanks for reading!

I don't know about other countries, but the credit system in this country (USA) is especially corrupt at its root. Essentially, these creditors/bankers are crooks. Without having any actual funds themselves, they take away goods and services from society and give them to you simply on the basis that you ask for it (ironically perhaps due to a need that society itself created for you) and give your signature. In what twisted minds does a mere signature have the power to ruin someone's life? Consumer debt is a fiction. A signature is not an action, what the creditors/bankers do is an action, and it's called theft and the onus should be upon them to repay society. At best the consumer is an accessory to a crime. But in what law system does the accessory get a greater penalty than the criminal himself? What's more is that this is all backed up by the U.S government. This country is a joke and if it went permanently into a great depression, it would be a blessing in disguise. It's not the love of money that's the root of all evil. It's the spirit of ambition. Humans were created to contemplate our existence while taking care of the earth, not to acquire things like degrees, houses, cars, and mostly other non-essentials. But sadly, it's drilled into our heads from birth to be a "go getter", to "succeed", which of course means living out some 1950's suburban fantasy.
