Summer of 2009

It has been a little rainy the last few days and as I was walking from my car to my house I smelled it, fall. Fall is in the air and it makes me quiet sad. While this summer was low on my list of favorite ones, it was still summer. And a sucky summer is better than the best fall or winter. So here's a little picture recap of memorable events.

Pool Party

We had a pool party today for work. It was more fun that I thought it would be. I love the sun. Seriously, love. And now I'm sunburned and I took the top off on the Jeep this morning (thanks Dad)! Summer is goooood. :)

Ahh..

I have started tanning regularly again and it brings me soo much happiness. It's been so long since I was at my normal color. The last time I went tanning was probably last August. But after this week I will be the same shade as last summer. I love getting in the shower and seeing how dark my legs are and how my face has some color to it again. AH! Greatest.feeling.ever. And I'll take the top off the jeep soon and my face and arms will get some serious sun. OH it will be wonderful!

Sigh...

Oh tank tops, tube tops, and flippy flops... I'll take you out soon. We'll go to baseball games, rides with the top off on the Jeep, and playing in the sun! I promise.
(PS those 4 little cubes are just my "winter" flip flops. I wear them to take the trash out or whatever really quick. Ha ha, I have a whole box of summer flip flops waiting to be opened and worn.)

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

So I went fishing last night. (Ha, I know, right?) Anyway, Buddy and Beau love to fish and they had the night off and invited us to go. Initially, I was not planning to actually fish, just go and hang out, but as we were walking around WalMart (prior to heading to the lake) I was told I was going to actually fish. So 45 minutes (side note, Old Man Withers works the fish/game counter at the Walmart) and $100 later, I have a fishing license, a pole, gloves, and a glow-in-the-dark bobber.

Holli and I didn't do much fishing. In fact, we didn't catch anything. The majority of our night was spent sitting in the car trying to avoid the mosquitoes. The bugs were INSANE. There were thousands of them everywhere, no joke. There were so many, they sounded like little children screaming and it felt like we were in a bad horror movie. Holli had a bit of a panic attack over them eating her (or her pole), which I got on video and is absolutely hilarious (sorry, Hoe), but I can't get my phone to email it. So here are a few pictures.

Things Dad Taught Me on the Golf Course

I went golfing with my Dad today! Well, he golfed and I drove the cart. I've played his caddy a few times and its always so fun, I love spending time with him. Thanks for taking me golfing Dad!

Here are a few things I learned while on the course today-
  • Clubhouse trail mix is tasty no matter how long it's sat in your golf bag.
  • Finding a ball in flip flops is not fun.
  • There seems to be a significant amount of self doubt in the sport of golf. Players are always commenting on how they will probably shank the drive or miss the putt. I'm pretty sure when a ball player heads out to the box and his teammates cheer him on he doesn't turn around and say "I dunno Mike, you've seen me play. *shakes head* I'll probably strike out. Ha Ha."
  • Call "fore" as soon as you think the ball will come close to someone. Not after the ball has hit the ground.
  • Do not hit your ball into the rough were the mosquitoes live. They will be very upset when you try to find it.
  • "P" does not mean putter. It's pitching wedge.

Just a cool picture I took there
